TASS offers software and expertise to improve safety performance for the transport industry. The MADYMO solver is TASS's core software tool.

MADYMO is the worldwide standard software for analyzing and optimizing occupant safety designs. It is unrivaled for its versatility, efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The Madymo solver combines a multi-body approach for fast calculations with finite elements (FE) where detail is desired. Multi-body is a computationally fast method of simulating the dynamic behavior of mechanical systems. It is well suited for performing large parametric design studies and modeling the dynamics of articulated systems. MADYMO's explicit FE solver allows the creation of detailed models of deformable structures, such as seatbelts, airbags, seats and door trims. MADYMO finite elements includes an extensive choice of efficient element definitions, material models and contact algorithms.

The MADYMO code has been implemented with much attention to execution speed and parallelisation. DySI was asked to evaluate the performance of the code and to train the development team in achieving even higher performance levels for both existing code and new developments. Based on the evaluation results an in-house training course was held with focus on continuation of the already extremely well performing code design and realization of the potential for the last performance steps.
