Dynamic Systems Intelligence (DySI) was founded in December 2006 bij Kjeld van der Schaaf and Eugène de Geus. Their ambition is to apply their knowledge of analysis and modeling of complex data-rich systems to the benefit of customers who manage elaborate, multi-variate processes.
From 1999 until the end of 2006 both partners were employed at ASTRON in Dwingeloo (Netherlands) a globally leading institute for the development of cutting-edge techniques for astrophysical observations. They were both closely involved in the conception and development of the novel technologies required for building the world's largest radio telescope, LOFAR. In order to function properly, LOFAR had to be developed as a highly complex and large-scale sensor system involving challenging real-time data processing and significant model-based data analysis.
From early 2007 DySI has developed and applied components for what has become known as our unique “smart cycle” approach. This includes systems architecture, design of experiment, software for real-time processing of large data-streams, and extensive data-analysis software tools. Our toolset consists of exploratory statistical analysis, multi-variate data analysis and model-based analysis, modelling and simulation, ranging from fully physical to fully empirical modelling, software acceleration, and reporting and visualisation techniques necessary for effective displaying and reporting of the results and insights to the customer and end-user
DySI applies these techniques in many different areas, such as water management, intelligent train maintenance, traffic management, safety and security, energy distribution systems, sound systems, production systems and others. DySI’s customers include among others TNO, Trigion, NedTrain and Gasunie.
DySI is based in Assen, in the Dutch province of Drenthe. DySI is partner of the Sensor Universe network in the Northern-Netherlands, and collaborates actively with the Hanze Institute of Technology (HIT) in Assen and the scientific institute INCAS3, also in Assen
